What to Buy Friday - Tiffen 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter 77VND for Camera lenses
I had a ton of questions about ND filters and had no clue which one to buy. I asked a buddy of mine that suggested what camera I should buy when I was looking into buying a camera. The camera I am using currently is the one he suggested so I trusted his advice. I was looking to get a cheap one just to get the job done but as I was looking more into it. I realized that going cheap wouldn't be a good idea being a professional. Purchasing a plastic ND filter would do the job but over time it wouldn't stay clean like glass would. I also spent a decent amount of money on my lenses. Putting a plastic ND filter over your expensive optics wouldn't be a good idea as well. Being a professional our main goal is to make the highest quality content we can. Now I understand that this ND filter isn't the highest quality possible. However It's also not the cheapest one on the market.
- Provides 2 to 8 stops of light control
- Thin profile ring - 9mm
- Wider outer optic to help reduce vignetting at wide angles
- Made with high quality optical glass using Tiffen's ColorCore™ technology
- Made in the USA
This is one thing I used my ND for.
A commercial I used this ND filter on.
I'm planning on doing more of a review on this at a later date. This ND filter definitely did the job. Even when I shot in S-log in a full day I could still shoot at 2.8 in video mode. As always do your research but I feel this is one of the more inexpensive ND filters with great results.
Talk to you soon!
